What inspired you to set up a new support group in Merthyr Tydfil?
I needed support myself during the first covid lockdown and when I searched, I found that my nearest for endometriosis support group was in Brecon, which is 14 miles from me but was available online and my first thought was of surely I cant be the only woman in Merthyr with endometriosis that wants and needs help. We need help and support closer and easily accessible to Merthyr Tydfil.
Can you tell us about why you wanted to become an Endometriosis UK volunteer?
I had spoken to a support group leader and she was so helpful and understood why I was so passionate about things surrounding diagnosis, my story etc, and in our conversation she mentioned that perhaps I could change the situation of there not being any support in my local area. I first thought “no I can’t do that”, but then I thought “why not? If not me, then who? And when? And how long would people like me be without help and support
